POOL in Bloom is aiming to improve spots around the village this year - and is keen to recruit more volunteers.
The group’s long-term aim is to enter Pool-in-Wharfedale into Britain in Bloom but for 2020 it is focused on simply making more areas look ‘amazing’. Writing on the village’s community website at www.poolinwharfedale.co.uk, a spokesperson said it would be working to ensure Pool had ‘cleaner, greener streets, great community spirit and a place we’re all proud to call home’.
Its first project will be to spruce up the road-facing area outside the Village Hall which will involve holding talks with the Village Hall Committee, Pool Sports and Social Club Committee and Pool C of E Primary School.
The group is hoping to welcome new faces to it next meeting which takes place at the Half Moon Inn from 7.30pm on Thursday, March 5.
