A WOMAN who has battled breast cancer is hosting a Valentine’s tea party in support of a friend who has the disease.

Maria Elliott, 52, from Rawdon, is holding the event to support her 39 year old friend Sherine Hampshire, who has been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer.

The community tea party is free of charges and will include craft stalls, artisan cakes, competitions, coffees and a yoga taster session. The event is the latest in a string of fundraising days for Sherine’s cancer fund to raise money for Cold Caps in hospitals.

Maria, said: “I met Sherine in 2015 during my own cancer treatment and unfortunately she is now battling chemotherapy again for secondary cancer in her spine, liver and lung. I hope that people in Rawdon will help me raise more funds on Sunday, February 16 at Jubilee Hall. We have lots of lovely things in store. If you want to go along rsvp to Elliottmaria06@gmail.com.”
