AN OTLEY school is promising a ‘wizard’ night out at its big annual show next week.

Students at Prince Henry’s Grammar School will be easing down the yellow brick road when they present the super soul musical The Wiz from Wednesday, February 5 to Friday, February 7. The show is a musical take on L Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz.

The Prince Henry’s adaptation will feature a cast from across the school taking on roles ranging from heroine Dorothy and her magical friends to the Munchkins, Evellene, Glinda and The Wiz himself.

Head of Performing Arts Peter Condry said: “Numbers such as I’m a Mean Ole Lion, Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News and Y’all Got It! will have you dancing in your seat as our fabulous dancers, talented cast and especially created show band give their all. We look forward to welcoming everyone.”

Performances start at 7pm and tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for concessions and children. Places can be booked from the school’s reception on (01943) 463524.
