OTLEY Carnival will launch a new competition this year.
Anyone who comes along and joins the parade collectors on the day, to bring in money for the carnival’s beneficiaries, will be in with a chance of winning a prize.
Two £50 donations will be made - one for the most money collected in a tin and one for the most collected in a bucket - with the money going to the winner’s choice of charity, local community group or school.
For more details about the competition, which is being sponsored by Althams Travel in Otley, contact Ann Steval by sending an e-mail to steval@btinternet.com.
This year’s carnival takes place on Saturday, June 20 and will raise money for three causes - Otley Community Allotment, Otley Maker Space & Otley Old People’s Welfare Centre.
The parade will set off at 1.15pm from Wharfedale Farmers Auction Mart and follow its usual route through town to finish at the carnival field, by Otley Bridge.
