MANORLANDS has received the proceeds of a Keighley running duo’s efforts.

Steve Kernan and Robert Morrisroe have presented a bumper £1,600 cheque to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

They took part in last autumn’s Great North Run.

Their fundraising was bolstered by Pizza Ranch, in Church Street, Keighley, which donated ten per cent of its takings from that day to the cause.

And support has also been provided by Bernadette Stenton, who staged a fundraising day at Riddlesden Cricket Club.

Steve and Bob said they were delighted with the total – and were now looking forward to a new challenge in 2020!

“The weather on the day of the run was a bit too warm but the crowds and fellow runners were amazing,” they said.

“We’d like to thank Craig Judson from Pizza Ranch and Bernadette for their support and all our family and friends who helped us reach the fantastic total.”

Manorlands supports patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the hospice and in the community, across an area covering Craven, Airedale and Wharfedale, and parts of Bradford. All services are provided for free, but it costs £10,000 a day to keep the hospice open. Only a small part of the cost is covered by statutory funding.
