LABOUR emerged as the resounding winners of at least one election on December 12.

While the party suffered nationally it was the clear favourite of pupils at Prince Henry’s Grammar School who voted in a mock election run by prefects and senior students.

Labour won 513 (38.3 per cent) of the 1,341 votes cast with the Green Party taking second place, with 278 votes, and the Conservatives in third with 228.

Assistant Headteacher: Learning Community, Christopher Lillington, said: “We are always keen to make sure our students understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens in a wider community and they voted with enthusiasm.

“Different points of view were presented by Sixth Form students in assemblies and then all year groups were able to make up their own minds.”
