Mr Farid, 41, worked at Ace Budget Taxis on Thornton Road, Fairweather Green, and lived in Shipley with his family.
He was originally from the Duckworth Terrace area of Girlington.
His colleagues described him as a "fantastic and humble, brilliant family man".
"Everyone is devastated. Even the community around the base - customers are devastated," the firm said.
"It's just a great loss to society in the whole. He was an absolutely fantastic person. It's just a great loss for the community."
Meanwhile, Beckfoot School, where Raees was a pupil, said: "Raees was a remarkable young man who was hugely popular and made a great impression on our school community and everyone who knew him.
"Our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with his family at this terribly sad time."
A date for the funeral is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
