RESIDENTS and local businesses have come together to ‘Light Up Menston’.

This Saturday will see Main Street in Menston lit up with giant festive baubles in a creative Christmas collaboration between local businesses and residents.

Local residents have jumped at the chance to help and 50 homeowners have agreed to host giant bauble boards supplied by local estate agents Ribston Pippin in their front gardens.

The boards feature Menston Business Association members, who have kindly sponsored them and in a coming together help bring more festive decor to the village, which is notoriously underfunded when it comes to Christmas lights. It’s also an opportunity to remind people to ‘shop’ local by showcasing the businesses within the village.

The boards will be lit up to coincide with the switch-on of the lights at Kirklands Community Centre on Saturday, December 7 at 4.30pm, where the Friends of Menston Primary School Christmas Fair will also be taking place from 4pm-6pm.
