CAROLS in the Park will be staged again in Horsforth in the run up to Christmas this year.

The “simple, family-friendly event” will take place at the bandstand in Hall Park from 4pm to 4.30pm on Saturday, December 14.

Local band The Stroke of Genius will be playing the music at the event which is organised by the town’s churches.

A spokesman said: “The event starts at dusk so people will arrive in the light and leave in darkness except for the twinkling of the fairy lit bandstand and the glimmer from the glow sticks each child is given to help them read the carol sheets or to just simply wave around in the darkness.

“Carols in the Park is a free event aimed at bringing the community together to enjoy the Christmas story in the Christmas spirit - with company, a warm drink and a mince pie. Carols in the Park takes place at the bandstand in Horsforth Hall Park.”
