TODDLERS, pre-schoolers, staff and parent volunteers hiked a whopping seven kilometres through mud to raise money and awareness for BBC Children in Need on Friday.
Zandra Monroe-Cochrane, owner of The Railway Children Pre-School and Nursery said: “We set off from The Railway Children Preschool-Nursery based within Menston railway station and walked through the village and up Ilkley Moor to The Hermit Inn.
“The Hermit supplied the children and staff with warm soup and sandwiches. Then when we returned to the village where Pickards Deli very generously gave all children and staff hot chocolates and brownies.
“Everybody did amazingly well!”
The nursery sets itself a challenge each year for Children in Need, a charity which helps disadvantaged children and young people.
Last year the children and staff climbed up Otley Chevin to raise money and awareness for the charity.
