OTLEY Beer Festival has made a donation to the Hag Dyke Appeal.

Hag Dyke is a Scout Hostel in the Yorkshire Dales that is run by the 1st Ben Rhydding Scout and Guide Group with a team of volunteers.

An urgent appeal was launched earlier this year o cover the costs of improving the water treatment system at the converted farmhouse, which is based on the slopes of Great Whernside.

Otley Beer Festival committee hopes what it describes as its ‘small contribution’ will help - but the appeal is still some £8,000 short of its target. Donations can be made by contacting Hag Dyke Administrator Robin Beaumont on 07850 093472.

This year’s fundraising beer festival, meanwhile, takes place at Otley Rugby Club on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 and will feature 60 cask beers, nine keg beers and a selection of cider and perry.
