THE OLD Piggery at Hainworth has been named one of the best holiday homes in the county

The Old Piggery, part of Cragg Hill Holiday Lets run by Jo and Stuart Currie, won the silver award for Best in Yorkshire.

The honour came in the annual Sykes Gems award scheme from UK holiday lettings specialists Sykes Cottages, which the Curries rent out their cottage through.

The three-bedroom Old Piggery, off Woodhouse Road, was shortlisted in last year's Sykes Gems for Best in Yorkshire.

Stuart said: "Last year we were ecstatic for one of our holiday cottages to be awarded gold for Best In Yorkshire, this year we are delighted that The Old Piggery has won silver in the same category.

"Bookings are coming in thick and fast, and the feedback is fantastic on all three cottages."

The Old Piggery was formally opened by Keighley East Ward councillor Doreen Lee in 2014, at what used to be Lower Kirkstall Wood Farm. The complex also features another three-bed holiday property and a one-bed cottage.

Sykes Gems recognises the best cottages and homeowners within the Sykes Holiday Cottages family.

This year’s panel of judges included the Sun's deputy travel editor, and local authority tourism officers from around the country.
