TRAFFIC was badly disrupted on Queensbury's roads this evening after a crash involving a marked police car and silver VW Golf.

The collision took place on Cockin Lane, near to the junction with Thornton Road, at 2.45pm this afternoon.

Police are treating the incident as a "fail to stop road traffic collision" with emergency services also in attendance.

A man, described as white and in his early 20s, fled the scene on foot from the VW.

A male officer and a female officer who were in the police car were taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

A female passenger in the VW Golf was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

One witness said: "All the air bags have gone off in the police car."

The AA marked traffic in the area as slow moving after Old Thornton Road was shut for a short period of time.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Enquiries are ongoing this evening following a fail to stop road traffic collision involving a police car in Bradford.

"The incident took place at about 3.48pm on Cockin Lane, Bradford after a silver VW Golf and a marked police car were in collision near to the junction with Thornton Road."
