A STREET party will be held in Otley this weekend to mark World Car-Free Day.
The event will be held on a section of Boroughgate that is being closed to traffic between 11am and 5pm on Sunday, September 22.
The street will be lined with picnic tables for people to dine on and a variety activities - including a reflex test game, arts and crafts, skipping ropes and giant Jenga - will also be laid on by Breeze Leeds.
Leeds City Council will be holding a Big Leeds Climate Conversation stall.
Also participating will be Otley 2030, Wildlife Friendly Otley and Otley Town Council whose Chair, Councillor Ray Georgeson, said: “We encourage people to leave their cars at home and either use public transport or pedal power to come and visit Otley to celebrate and take part.”
The day also coincides with this year’s Otley Open Town Crier Competition and Otley Folk Festival.
