‘ENCHANTING’ music from the 18th and 19th Centuries will be performed in Fewston next week.
A Salon Opera, featuring Yu-Wei Hu on flute and Johan Löfving on guitar and theorbo (a large, lute-type instrument), takes place at St Michael and St Lawrence Church on Friday, September 13.
The pair are acclaimed musicians who have played to audiences at the BBC Proms, Wigmore Hall and at festivals in Europe and the Far East.
A concert by candlelight, their Fewston appearance will include songs by Schubert and Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice. Canapes and wine will also be available in the adjacent Washburn Heritage Centre. Tickets cost £16 for adults - £10 for students - and are available at a reduced price of £14 if bought locally from Pat, on (01943) 880284, or Cheri on (01943) 465977.
