A FUN-FOCUSED dog show at Otley has raised nearly £1,600 for charity.
The Charity Shih Tzu Fun Day and All Breeds Novelty Dog Show was held at Acrecliffe Equestrian Centre on Monday, August 26.
Held in memory of Ian Sharp, the event featured a mixture of Shih Tzu and fun classes along with terrier racing, ‘have a go’ agility activities - thanks to Freymor Agility - and pony rides.
The day also included a tombola and raffle, a bouncy castle, stalls and a barbecue.
Prizes and rosettes were awarded across a host of categories including, in the non Shih Tzu part of the show, Best Pedigree, Best Re-Home or Rescue, Best Puppy, Best Trick, and Waggiest Tail.
The Shih Tzu classes, meanwhile, included sections for puppies, Best Colours or Markings, Child Handler up to 16 Years, and Best Clipped.
The proceeds will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) which works to improve care and support for people with the condition and their families and carers. The show’s main sponsor was pet food manufacturer Skinner’s.
