MARIE Drysdale describes her decision to skydive for her bowling club as a ‘moment of madness’.
Nevertheless the 60 year old, of Burley-in-Wharfedale Bowling Club, went ahead with her pledge - and has raised more than £2,000.
The tandem skydive took place at at Havestow Airport Scunthorpe on Sunday, August 4 August.
Asked after landing what the experience had been like, Marie said she had gone through a range of emotions stretching ‘from blind panic and absolute horror to complete bliss and utter tranquility’.
Burley Bowling Club Secretary Brian Wheeler said Marie had put her ‘heart and soul’ into the club since joining seven years ago: “She is an absolute treasure.”
The proceeds from the skydive will support the club’s efforts to build a new clubhouse which can be supported at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/burleybowlingclubfundraising .
