A RETIREMENT property developer is offering to pay the stamp duty on new apartments in Ilkley.

McCarthy and Stone is making the limited time offer for selected homes at Scholars Place - the home of Retirement Living Plus development Chesterton Court and Retirement Living development Priestley Court, on Railway Road.

Those who sign up for it stand to save stand to save anything from 2 per cent to 5 per cent of the value of their new apartment: the current stamp duty rate for properties worth more than £125,000.

The summer incentive is available for eligible buyers at Scholars Place who reserve their place before August 31 and complete the purchase no later than October 25, 2019.

An alternative offer is also available for retirees who choose from a selection of rental apartments at Scholars Place. They can benefit from one month’s free rent, inclusive of service charge, if they reserve before August 31 and move in before October 25.

Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone North East, Liz Green, said: “We are pleased to be able to bring this limited time offer to Ilkley, because we know that it helps to alleviate some of the financial barriers preventing retirees from moving.”
