A COUPLE have raised hundreds of pounds for charity by running in the Leeds 10k.

Eleanor Thomson and her husband Andy took part in the run in aid of Breast Cancer Haven and have so far raised just short of £900.

The charity supported Eleanor after she was given a shock diagnosis of breast cancer towards the end of last year.

The couple took part in the race to say thank you and to ensure that other people would be given the chance to have the same invaluable support.

After Sunday’s 10k Eleanor said they were thrilled with the amount of money raised so far. She finished in 51.19 and Andy finished in 53.08.

Last week Eleanor, 43, from Guiseley, said: “Breast Cancer Haven enabled me to access counselling, massage, reflexology and nutritional therapy. They gave me a safe space away from the hospital where I was understood and could express my frustrations and doubts, which was probably what I needed most. I don’t know how I would have managed without their help.

“This is our way of saying thank you and helping to ensure that others can have this amazing support too.”
