TWO local politicians have enjoyed cheering on some of the country’s top cyclists.
The Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Leeds North West, Kamran Hussain, and Councillor Sandy Lay (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) were amongst the spectators at this year’s Otley Cycle Races. Big crowds turned out on Wednesday, July 3,to see a selection of races ranging from a fun balance event for young children to the elite men and women’s races.
Cllr Lay and Mr Hussain said: “The event was a great success. We had lovely weather and a great family atmosphere. A massive thank you to the organisers and all the riders.”
Both of the elite races, the Pinsent Masons Women’s Otley Grand Prix and the
Property Development Group Men’s Otley Grand Prix were part of the HSBC UK National Circuit Series. Jess Roberts (Team Breeze) and Matt Bostock (Canyon DHB p/b Bloor Homes) emerged victorious.
