A CARE home is hosting regular visits from nursery children after taking inspiration from a TV series.

Bupa’s Burley Hall is following the example of the hugely successful Channel 4 programme, Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds, which brings preschoolers and pensioners together.

Youngsters from Cliffe House Day Nursey pay fortnightly visits to the Burley in Wharfedale home to enjoy activities including reading, crafts and a singalong with residents.

The home’s General Manager, Julie Robinson, who was behind the initiative, said: “Getting visits from the children at Cliffe House really brings joy to the residents, seeing both generations enjoying the sessions make these visits worthwhile.

“We’ll continue to do more activities like this, as it massively benefits both the children and the residents.”
