AS part of this year’s highly anticipated Ilkley Art Trail, five local artists will be celebrating the much-loved Ilkley Moor in a joint exhibition - The Moorland Collective.

This free to attend exhibition will take place at Cottage No. 4, Ilkley Arts Studio, Manor House Courtyard, Ilkley. As with all of the Ilkley Art Trail venues, the doors will open on Friday, June 28 to Sunday, June 30 from 11am until 5pm.

Brought together for this exhibition by friendship and their love of Ilkley Moor, the Moorland Collective will explore the sounds, textures and vistas of the moor through a range of different mediums.

Emmeline Butler through ceramics, Tara Joy through plaster relief casts and ceramics, Susannah Lawless through acrylic landscape paintings, Juliet Gutch through mobile sculptures and poetry and Rachel Sedman through analogue photography, printmaking and sound installation.

One of the Collective’s artists, Susannah Lawless said: “From the tapestry of colour which blankets the land, to the ever-changing skies, the moor is a place of wonder, restless change, memory and time.”

Susannah added: “With a wide array of approaches to making and responding to the natural environment, the exhibition aims to be a gentle and shared celebration of a local and much-loved landscape.”
