VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help with some summer planting in Yeadon next week.
Aireborough Civic Society (ACS) will be planting summer flowers - provided by Leeds City Council’s Arium Nursery - from 12.30pm on Tuesday, June 11.
The planting will take place at three locations: Yeadon Town Hall, Yeadon High Street and the Harper Lane bus island.
Anyone who can spare two hours to lend a hand is being encouraged to come along, and only need bring some gloves and a trowel.
Volunteers can contact ACS Chair Clive Woods on (0113) 2503580, e-mail: clivewoods@hotmail.com, or just turn up at the bus island.
Mr Woods said: “Last year’s flowers were extremely colourful.
“When we are planting many people say how good they look - however we really would like a few more people to join in and help.
“Yeadon High Street is in a Conservation Area and the Town Hall is a Listed Building, so it is very important that we make them look special and at their best for residents and visitors alike.”
