CITY are launching a new family stand in the North West Corner at Valley Parade next season.

A survey by the Football League revealed the Bantams were one of nine clubs not to attain their Family Excellence Award.

As a result and following consultation with the Supporters’ Board and various fan groups, City are to provide families with a designated seating area in the corner section between the Kop end and the main stand.

A club spokesperson said: “EFL representatives attended games against Charlton and Fleetwood last season and we were marked down in the summary report as we do not have a designated Family Stand, which visitors can clearly identify as being family friendly.

“This was a key reason why the club failed to attain the Family Excellence Award, being one of only nine clubs in the EFL who didn't meet the standard.

“We have taken action to address this and the new Family Stand will be situated in the North West Corner, which is already occupied by a number of families and school children.

“The lower tier will primarily be used for families, while match-by-match spectators and those entering as part of community initiatives will be able to sit in the top tier.”

Supporters wishing to move into the new Family Stand, or away from it, have until Friday, May 31 (5pm) to re-locate their season tickets free of charge.
