WAITROSE is supporting a vital project - Cuppa, Cake and Company - based at the Parish Centre in Burley-in-Wharfedale.

The group was set up by Becky Berry in 2015 and seeks to tackle the problem of social isolation in the village. Last year it received grants from Burley Parish Council, Ilkley Round Table, and until October, the Co-op Local Community Support Scheme is helping to fund ‘Cuppa Cake’. Now, it has been accepted for support by the Waitrose Community Support Scheme in Otley during the month of May. So by shopping in the Co-op in Burley or Otley Waitrose, you can support the project.

With the Otley Waitrose scheme, if you shop there during May you can pick up a token when you pay, and on the way out there are three boxes where you can post your token.

One of these has the name of the Parish Centre, which you can choose to indicate your community support.
