FOR the first weekend of May the Manor House in Ilkley welcomes ‘Periods in Landscape’ an exhibition by Timothy Forster.
A spokesperson said: “Timothy Forster is a watercolour artist, fell and ultra-runner based in Ilkley who is primarily concerned with how we might fragment and reconstruct the experience of landscape.
“Timothy studied at Cardiff Metropolitan University before attaining a Masters degree at the University of Leeds in 2015. “He has exhibited throughout the United Kingdom, whilst contributing to various group shows throughout Italy, Istanbul and parts of America.
“Recently, Timothy has concluded a series of exhibitions including a solo exhibition at The Wishbone Gallery in Grassington, which explored the ways fell running might interact with the physicality’s of painting. In March 2019 Timothy exhibited at the National Army Museum in London as part of ‘Flux’, an organisation dedicated to introducing new and established contemporary artists.
“‘Periods in Landscape’ is an ongoing series that explores the unique rhythm between inhabiting and observing a particular landscape. Through self-propelled adventures, Timothy asks how the physical and mental demands of ultra-running, fell running and through hiking inhabit the art of sketching.”
