ON April 7 Cornerstone Café held a coffee morning to present cheques to a number of local charities. Cornerstone Café is run entirely by volunteers and opens for light refreshments and lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (10am to 1.30pm) and on Saturday mornings (10am to noon). The cafe is part of Menston Methodist Church and is now into its 12th year of operation. During that time it has offered a valuable service to the residents of Menston, with good food at a reasonable price served in a friendly relaxed environment. During the last 12 years £30,000 has been donated to charity with an equal amount raised for the church. New customers (and volunteers) are always welcome. Anyone wishing to to volunteer should contact Judith Johns on 01943 872892, The charities supported include Otley and Ilkley Food Banks, Hug on a Tray, St Gemma’s Hospice Menston Primary School Parkinson’s UK (local branch) Brain Tumour Charity.
