THERE were Easter eggs galore in the Horsforth office of children’s charity Barnardo’s after a bumper donation.
Pudsey-based textile company AW Hainsworth donated a record 802 Easter Eggs for children and young people who attend Barnardo’s projects in Yorkshire.
Hainsworth Business Support Manager Christine Shears, dropped off the eggs at the charity’s office in Low Lane, Horsforth, Leeds where they filled the reception before being distributed to services across the county.
“We wanted to do something extra for Barnardo’s children and young people for Easter” said Christine.
“Some of our staff brought in eggs and others donated money so we could buy them. Last year we donated just over 400 eggs so I’m delighted to say we have nearly doubled it this year.”
Steve Oversby, the charity’s director for the East Region, said: “Barnardo’s supports disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people from all over Yorkshire, so for them to receive Easter eggs and know someone is thinking of them is a very special thing. I’d like to say thank you to AW Hainsworth for the generosity of all their staff – it is much appreciated.”
