MARTIN House Hospice has been adopted as this year’s charity by Bramhope and Carlton Parish Council.
In 2018/19 the council raised £1,934 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and now fundraising has started afresh for the children’s hospice.
The council’s charity liaison spokeswoman Cllr Hilary Harris, said: “It was a pleasure to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and I hope that people will be just as generous this year.”
Most of the fundraising takes place at the Bramhope Summer Festival events
throughout June and July. Individual competitions include an on-going raffle of a hand knitted Peter Rabbit, and a name the bear contest.
Cllr Harris will take part in a table tennis challenge at Bramhope Village Hall from 11am to 5pm on Tuesday, July 30. Last year she played non-stop for five hours but this year her target is six hours. People of any age or ability are invited to play against her.
Sponsorship can be made via Hilary’s Just Giving page:

challenge either email harris.hilary71@gmail.com or turn up on the
day.
