ILKLEY Round Table has donated £10,000 to Ilkley Town Football Club to improve the facilities around the 4G pitch for parents, spectators and players.

The project will improve the changing rooms, provide a basic kitchen so drinks and refreshments are available, provide a covered spectator stand and toilets that are available to the public while the pitch is in use.

Richard Giles of Ilkley Town Football Club said: “We understand the responsibility we have to our community and are very proud of the wide range of people that are playing football and involved in the club.

“We recognise that the ancillary facilities attached to the 4G pitch could be improved for the benefit of players, parents and spectators. Over time we aim to become a home where people want to come together with a shared interest in football. The project we are working to complete is aimed at improving the experience for people watching and playing football at the 4G.”

Guy Weston, Guy Weston of Ilkley Round Table said added: “Having previously supported the building of the all-weather 4G pitch two years ago we are pleased to again support this project which will benefit the 1000 people each week using the facility and a further 500 parents and spectators watching their children play football on the 4G pitch each week.”

Ilkley Town Football Club strives to add value to the local community by bringing people together, giving them opportunities to be involved in sport and achieve their potential. They believe physical activity and community involvement bring happiness and well-being.
