ROTARIANS in Otley have enjoyed a visit from one of West Yorkshire’s Deputy Lieutenants.
The Rotary Club of Otley Chevin welcomed David A Pearson as the guest speaker to their recent, thirtieth Charter Anniversary Dinner at the Chevin Country Park Hotel.
Mr Pearson talked about his Deputy Lieutenancy role and explained that his duties included helping the Lord Lieutenant to support business and education across the region. He said the position also involved maintaining close links with the police, fire service and other organisations.
Recalling details about his appointment, Mr Pearson also talked about the history of the Lord Lieutenancy which stretches back to the reign of Henry VIII.
