ROADWORKS on the busy main route through Bramhope will begin next week.
Drainage is being installed on the A660 Leeds Road, near the Kings Road roundabout, from Monday, April 1 with the scheme expected to last three weeks.
The work is part of the preparations for a new Miller Homes development that will see 319 properties built on land between Breary Lane East and Leeds Road.
Manually operated, three-way lights will be installed at the roundabout to manage traffic between 9.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
The work - to create a surface water ‘outfall’ sewer’ - will also continue, with extended hours, over the weekends.
Advanced warning signs are being installed in the area and motorists are being advised to expect delays.
Future works to accommodate the development are also planned and will include the creation of a new roundabout on Leeds Road at its junction with The Poplars.
