GUISELEY Community Foundation raised £4,000 for local causes with a two day beer festival.

The event, at Coopers Bar, Guiseley, was described as a resounding success and raised money for AVSED, Action for Children, Memory Lane and Guiseley AFC Academy.

The beer festival has been taken over by the Foundation, the charitable arm of Guiseley AFC, from the now defunct Guiseley Lions Club.

It was organised by Foundation Chairman Phil Rogerson and other Foundation Trustees along with former Lions festival organisers Pete Gable and Bob Banks.

Foundation Trustee Kinnon North said:”We thank all who helped to organise and run the event and everyone who supported it. There was a lot of hard work put in, not only over the weekend but also in the planning and organising over the past weeks and months and everyone has been so generous with their time and money.

“We enjoyed the whole event despite the long days and hope that we have raised not only our profile as the Community Foundation but also the profiles of the three local charities within the community.”

An auction held during the event had a star lot of a week’s holiday in Cornwall along with lots donated by local businesses and sports clubs.
