AN OTLEY artist’s work has been shortlisted for a prestigious national prize.
Peter Holt’s portrait, Alicia, is one of 81 paintings that have made it through to the final stages of the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize.
Mr Holt’s work, along with those of the others on the shortlist, will be exhibited at Mall Galleries, in London, from Tuesday, March 5 to Sunday, March 17.
The competition is for British contemporary representational painting and drawing and offers a first prize worth £20,000, plus an engraved gold medal.
Chair of the organising committee, Ian Rowley, said: “We’ve been bowled over by the quality of the entries. A record-breaking 2,400 works were submitted.”
