ENJOY a vintage night out - Two Rivers Swing Band are putting on their popular annual Ilkley dance on Saturday, February 23 Ilkley’s Winter Garden.
The Swing Band is directed by local jazz trumpeter and arranger Trevor Vincent. They will be playing three sets including a number of Trevor’s own arrangements and several songs from their two vocalists Ros Lewis and Shirley Lewis. Between sets while the musicians take a break there will be dance tuition from The Swing Cats to make sure that everyone is up on the dance floor before the night is through! This is your chance to discover your hidden dancing talent.
You may have spotted The Swing Cats jiving on an episode of Agatha Christie’s “The ABC Murders” just after Christmas. Les Goldman, Chair of Two Rivers Bands commented “Don’t worry. We’re not planning for any sinister goings-on at our dance - just that everyone will have a really good time”.
Local firms Bettys, Martinez Fine Wines, Mortens and Westrow Hairdressers have supported the event by donating some great raffle prizes.
Tickets for the dance cost just £10. They can be bought on line at ticketsource.co.uk/two-rivers-bands, by phone 0333 666 3366 or from Grove Music, 10 The Grove Ilkley.
