ROTARIANS from Otley have given a funding boost to a Leeds homeless charity.
The Rotary Club of Otley Chevin recently presented £750 to Arja Copperwheat, from St George’s Crypt*.
The money was part of a £1,941 total that the group raised through carol singing in the run-up to Christmas.
Club members sang at a number of local restaurants, pubs and hotels during December, 2018 to raise the cash.
The proceeds have been shared out between several good causes.
*Based beneath St George’s Church, St George’s Crypt’s roots stretch back to 1930. Its work today, in partnership with the NHS, council and charities, continues to focus on assisting the vulnerable and includes drug and alcohol rehabilitation services and training opportunities for the homeless.
