AN OLDER people’s charity is seeking volunteer minibus drivers and helpers.

Otley Action for Older People uses its minibuses to take people to all kinds of weekly activities including trips out, lunch clubs and exercise classes.

To do so it needs a dedicated team of volunteer drivers and escorts, who help passengers on and off the bus and at the venues.

Several long-standing volunteers have recently retired which means the search is on for new recruits.

An OAOP spokesomwan said: “Volunteers go through a one day MIDAS driving course and also shadow our current drivers before they take to the road. If you have a spare couple of hours every month and can help to support the charity then please get in touch with Sue, in the office, on (01943) 463965.”

Volunteers are paid expenses to cover lunch costs while out supporting trips.
