OTLEY Sailing Club has been shortlisted for the Leeds Sports Awards.
The club has reached the final stages of the awards’ Special Contribution category in recognition of its work to make sailing available to all through its Sailfree scheme.
The winners will be announced at a presentation night at the First Direct Arena, in Leeds, on Thursday, February 28.
Sailfree offers sailing to children and young people with disabilities and complex learning needs through volunteer-run sessions* that operate from April to October.
The Leeds Sports Award would be the latest in a string of accolades that the Otley club has received.
The Royal Yacht Association recently awarded them the 2019 Club Award for being Open to all and Inclusive.
They are also finalists for the RYA Yacht & Yachting Club of the Year Award, which is voted for by the public and features clubs from across the country.
Otley Sailing Club Commodore Norman Stephens said: “It would be great to bring this award home to Yorkshire!”
