THE IMPORTANCE of palliative care was highlighted by MP Stuart Andrew when he visited a children’s hospice.
The MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough went to Martin House Hospice, at Boston Spa, which provides family-led care for children and young people from across Yorkshire with life-limiting conditions.
Mr Andrew said: “Having led the fundraising team for Martin House prior to my election as a Member of Parliament as well as working in a number of other children’s hospices, palliative care is something that is very close to my heart. I always like to find time to go back to visit Martin House to see the vital work that they continue to do on a daily basis for those most in need and their families.
“I firmly believe that we must ensure that people receive the most appropriate care personalised to their individual needs as they approach the end of their life. Hospices such as Martin House really are invaluable.”
