THE FOUNDER of a family bereavement charity has visited Otley to receive a £1,900 donation.
The money for Elliot’s Footprint was raised by the town’s Sainsbury’s supermarket branch, which raised £1,000, and two Sainsbury’s employees, Linda Guy and Carole O’Connor, who raised £900.
The charity was founded in 2014 by bereaved parents Andrea and John Kerslake. Named after their late son, it aims to help and support families following the loss of a child.
Mr Kerslake visited Sainsbury’s Otley on Friday, December 7 to receive the donation. He said: “It’s amazing what Sainsbury’s have raised for us and we’re really grateful. The money will go towards funding a new support worker who will be working directly with bereaved families, and this will pay for three months work.”
