A GROUP of local parents are celebrating after raising an impressive £6,000 towards their children’s school at the Westville House School PTA Ball on Friday, November 23 November.

The money raised is going to be spent on new outdoor play equipment for Westville House School in Ilkley which will benefit every class from pre-School to Year 6.

The record-breaking black tie fundraiser took place at the Winter Gardens in Ilkley where a huge turnout of people enjoyed a fun filled evening; partying until the early hours.

They were joined by the Westville House School Headteacher, Mrs Nikki Hammond, as well as other teachers and members of staff.

Auction prizes were snapped up quickly and included a bespoke suit kindly donated by Austen Pickles of Norton & Townsend, a family photoshoot with Jenny Maden, a meal for two at The Wheatley in Ben Rhydding and a brand new England cricket shirt signed by Captain Joe Root, amongst others.

As Sarah Siddons, Chair of the PTA said: “We are a tight knit and very enthusiastic group of parents who are passionate about our school.

“We’re delighted to have raised so much money at our ball that will certainly benefit the children at Westville House and the children for years to come.

“Thank you to everyone who came and all the local businesses for supporting us.”
