THREE brass bands are teaming up for a Christmas concert in Otley.

Otley Brass Band, Stepping Stones and Wharfe Brass are all linked under the umbrella of the Otley Brass Association.

But their show at Otley Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15 will be the first time that all three bands have performed together.

Stepping Stones, which was set up for brass players who are starting out and improving, will be playing some traditional carols and Christmas favourites.

Wharfe Brass meanwhile, established in 2009 as a feeder group for Otley Brass Band, will play a mixture of original Christmas pieces alongside other arrangements, including Rutter’s Pie Jesu.

Musical Director of Wharfe Brass and Stepping Stones, Andy Novell, said: “The bands are very excited to be playing at this event along with Otley Brass Band.

“The players have all been working very hard to prepare for this concert and it will be a very enjoyable programme of music.”

The concert starts at 7pm and tickets cost £8 for adults or £6 for concessions, with admission free to under 16s. Tickets will be available on the door and can also be bought in advance from Rachel’s Made to Measure on Cross Green, Otley.

All three bands also have other pre-Christmas engagements lined up at local supermarkets, festive events and school fairs. For more details visit http://www.otleybrassassociation.co.uk/ .
