HUNDREDS of knitted angels have been hidden around Horsforth to help publicise this year’s Carols in the Park.
More than 600 angels have been placed around the town with messages asking for them to be brought to the event, which takes place in Hall Park from 4pm to 4.30pm on Saturday, December 8.
A spokesman said: “Carols in the Park is a free, simple, family-friendly event organised by the churches in Horsforth. The aim is to bring the local community together to enjoy the Christmas story by singing Christmas carols from a sheet over a warm drink and a mince pie.
“This year local musicians from the band Stroke of Genius will provide the music, encouraging everyone to join in while the children wave around their glow sticks.
“In the week leading up to the event, more than 600 knitted angels will be hidden all around Horsforth which carry a message requesting they be brought to the event so they can take part in the Christmas story. If you find one and bring it along, a chocolate prize awaits you.”
