OTLEY BID has been given a mandate to continue for another five years.

The Business Improvement District sent out ballot papers to business owners and landlords within its levy-raising area in October and voting ended last week.

Announcing the result online on Monday, November 12, the organisation said: “We are delighted to confirm that the businesses of Otley have voted for us to continue for a second, five year term from 2019-2024!

“Thank you to everyone who voted. We are absolutely delighted at the result and look forward to bringing our next five year plan to fruition.”

The group is now set to invest about £375,000 in the town over the next five years. Otley Town Council’s Trade and Tourism Committee Chair, Councillor Paul Carter said: “Congratulations to Otley BID on securing a second term from the businesses of Otley.

“It’s recognition of the hard work already put in by the BID team and a mandate for future collaborations to boost Otley business and the environment in which business thrives. The council has worked closely with the BID and looks forward to future productive collaborations for the benefit of the town.”
