POPULAR Geordie comic Ross Noble will bring his new tour to Leeds next month.

Ross, fresh off the back of his critically acclaimed role in Mel Brooks’ London West End revival of Young Frankenstein, will perform at Leeds Town Hall on Thursday, December 13 and Friday, December 14.

Describing his new stand-up routine, El Hablador, he said: “Expect the unexpected. Unless you’ve seen me before. Then you know what to expect.

“But I might not do that.

“But then again, I might. I expect it will be one of those two options.”

A performer who has been doing stand-up since he was 15, Ross has undertaken 15 sell-out tours, had nine top-selling stand-up DVD releases and was ranked tenth in Channel 4’s poll of the 100 Greatest Stand-Ups.

Last December he starred in a new TV series for award-winning entertainment channel Dave, Ross Noble: Off Road, which followed him as he took part in the Scottish Six Days Trial - a legendary motorbiking challenge.

His latest tour, which started in September and has 68 dates, is his 16th.

Asked if he still enjoys touring, he quipped: “It would be hard work if I didn’t!

“Is that how many shows it is? That seems like a daft number – I’ll put on two extra dates, just to make it up to 70.

“But, yeah, I do still love it. The great thing about stand-up is you’re face-to-face with real people.

“When I started all I did was tour – I was just a vessel.

“I realised quite early on that stand-up can teach you everything you need to know about life, which is: have one eye on the future, have one eye on the past, but live in the present.”

Tickets for Ross’s Leeds shows are available from Leeds Town Hall on (0113) 376 0318, or visit www.leedstownhall.co.uk .
