Jubilant Menston under-nines
MENSTON Cricket Club's under-nine Strikers team are celebrating a double triumph.
They won the Airedale Division of the under-nine league in July without losing a game.
Last Saturday they crowned their season by beating the Wharfedale Division winners Adel in the championship play-off.
Set 277 to win Menston finished on 301-4 to take the title.
The under-nines emulates the performance of the Menston under-11 Strikers who won their championship play-off against Ilkley Denton earlier after going through the season undefeated.
It is the first time in Menston’s 135-year history that either age group has won the play-off.
