A SPECIAL evening of early 18th music will be held at Otley Parish Church next month.
Musick for a Summer Evening, which takes place from 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 5, is described as A Celebration for Thomas Chippendale’s Christening Day.
The concert has been organised as part of this year's 300th anniversary celebrations for Otley's most famous son.
It takes place on the very day Chippendale was baptised in the church, in 1718, and will feature soprano singer Joanne Dexter, cellist Mark Webb and the Chippendale Singers, amongst others.
Tickets cost £10 and are available from Otley Parish Church Office on (01943) 465927, e-mail info@otleyparishchurch.org, or from Otley Courthouse by calling (01943) 467466.
Complimentary tercentenary christening cake will be supplied on the night by Patisserie Viennoise, and offered during the interval.
