A LEEDS Trinity University student has presented her research at the British Undergraduate Research Conference.
Lydia Braham, 21, who is in the final year of a degree in Forensic Psychology, spoke on the Impulsivity and Difficulties in Managing Emotions in Self-harming Young Adults at the conference in Sheffield this month.
She said: "Before I started at Leeds Trinity I would shy away from public speaking. I would never have put myself forward for something like this, but over the course of my degree, my confidence has gradually improved.
Dr Danielle McDermott Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology said: "Lydia has always excelled but it has been lovely to see her confidence grow as she has progressed to her final year. It was great to see Lydia present her work at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research, something which is very daunting to many but Lydia has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
"Lydia has a real passion and drive to continue her studies and train to be a forensic psychologist. I have no doubt that she will go on to do great things and I look forward to working with her in the field of forensic psychology in the future. She is a credit to us at Leeds Trinity University and I am proud to call her our student."
