AN OTLEY runner is one step closer to completing his 12 marathons challenge.
Danny Cooney, who is aiming to finish a dozen long-distance races in two years, ran in the Sevilla Marathon on Sunday, February 25.
Danny, who is raising money for the Otley Town Mayor's 14+1 appeal, Little Sisters Of The Poor and Otley Defibrillators, crossed the finishing line in three hours, 36 minutes.
He will attempt his final two races at Ibiza on April 7 and then at Wexford, Ireland on June 10.
A fundraising afternoon and evening at Otley's The Junction Inn, meanwhile, raised £225 taking Danny's total so far to £1,265.
