WORK has begun to build 96 homes on the site of a former Yeadon mill.
The £30 million development will create hundreds of jobs in the area, according to house builder Camstead Homes.
The company is transforming the former Naylor Jennings site on Green Lane into Weavers Beck - a development of executive homes ranging from two to five bedrooms.
Green Lane Mill was built in around 1868 for Thomas Pratt. The main building was substantially destroyed by fire in 1906. The site was Taken over by Naylor Jennings in 1907 and converted to a dyeworks, the company rapidly grew - starting off with 53 employees, but employing 392 by 1920.
The site was hit by vandalism after the closure of the dyeworks in 2010.
